Growing up in Cairo, Lara began performing at the age of 4 and started writing her own songs by age 11. By her 12th birthday Lara had penned her first single, 'You Played Me', which was recorded
a year later.

But it was the reality show, Star Academy that was to change her life forever. She auditioned in 2008 and became one of the youngest contestants ever to compete.

Advancing to the semi-finals, Lara's fan base across the Middle East began growing, and she soon caught the attention of award-winning music producer, Jean-Marie Riachi.

Riachi, recognising Lara's innate talent, decided to help her take her career to the next level.

Sure enough, Lara soon found herself in JMR Studios in Lebanon working with Riachi on her debut single "Mission is You", and traveling to Los Angeles to work on the accompanying video, directed world renown director by Ray Kay.

The success of 'Mission is You' was capped by it's selection from amongst 100s of other songs to be included in the 'Eurodance' compilation.

Lara's natural beauty and vibrant personality was recognized recently when she won the title of 'Sexiest Arab Woman 2010'.

She was also chosen to be the official NIKE Egypt's ambassador in 2010.

The launch of her most recent single 'Chains' was again a dynamic collaboration between Lara and renown music producer Jean-Marie Riachi. For the accompanying video the creative brilliance of internationally acclaimed director Ray Kay was again brought into play. This time the video was shot in Miami.

The new 'Chains' single and video has been received with much acclaim and taken Lara as a star to new levels.

Lara is currently working with Riachi on her first album, which is due out early next year. It will include many of the songs she has written over the years along with some new titles she is busy working on.

Lara says her biggest inspiration is her mother and father and she remains forever grateful for their love and support.
